Volume...Finding the Formulas
Share

Description

Just telling our 8th grade students the volume formulas for a cylinder and a cone does not necessarily mean they are going to understand and be able to apply this Common Core standard. However, by using a discovery approach, students will be able to connect these formulas to some prior knowledge...the volume of a rectangular prism. This activity also reviews the basics of a cone and cylinder and the math behind making the nets for each.
