LEVEL: 5th - 7th
COMMON CORE: CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.3
→ Based off 2001 Puffin Classics Edition [ISBN: 9780142401200].
→ Our activities easily integrate w/ Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Canvas, Schoology, Edmodo, Blackboard, Moodle, Brightspace, Sakai, Showbie, Remind, & more.
→ Suggested Answer Key NOT Included! We find they have great potential to distract from learner discussion. We think subjective activities like this one create excellent student-driven idea generation and analysis. Let them share their ideas and then talk about their merits without the impending fear/desire for an answer key.
Enjoy and remember, sometimes people aren't who they seem to be!

WHAT OTHER TEACHERS ARE SAYING ABOUT OUR CHARACTERS RESOURCES
♥ This actually got some of my students excited about writing! Very thoughtful for character activity! Very helpful in keeping students on-task while reading independently.
♥ Good way to keep track of the characters: physical attributes, strengths, and inner desires that help bring the conflict to fruition. The creative format alone will help kids be more interested in taking character notes. Thank you!
♥ Thanks for including physical, inner desires, and other traits as kids don't always think about anything except physical descriptions-this will deepen their concept of details. Worked well to engage my students in analyzing character development.
♥ This simple yet in-depth activity supported students to think about direct character traits as well as indirect characterization. Thanks. They also loved the visuals. We discussed the images we each had in our minds of what we thought each character look like based on the textual evidence and compared it to the images on the sheets and then the movie.
♥ Loved this for students to help them keep track of each of the characters. My students struggled keeping the characters straight, but by using this character log, students were able to look and characterization AND address this comprehension issue.
