Students build weather pictures using standard pattern blocks, then trace a simple sentence describing the weather. This activity strengthens fine motor control, letter formation, and early sentence reading while keeping students actively engaged.

Perfect for centers, morning tubs, small groups, or early finisher activities for Pre-K, Kindergarten, First Grade and Homeschool children.

What’s Included:

This resource includes 16 weather-themed pattern block mats, each with a traceable sentence.

Weather themes include examples such as:

  • sunny
  • cloudy, overcast
  • raining, sun shower, rainbow
  • stormy, lightning
  • windy
  • snowy
  • tornado

Each mat includes:
✔ A pattern block design students can build
✔ A simple sentence to trace describing the weather


Each mat comes in 5 options for easy DIFFERENTIATION:

  • full color
  • color with white outline of pattern blocks
  • color with white filled center of pattern blocks - increasing the difficulty
  • black and white
  • black and white with white filled center of pattern blocks
