What are Does Not Belong cards?

Identifying same and different objects is a very important skill, especially for children under the Autism spectrum. kids with language problems usually have difficulty in understanding the concept of negation.

Feature-Function Cards

In this level, we are concentrating on the identifying the same and different features/functions of various categories. We have used 4 images - 3 objects of similar features/functions and 1 object not having that feature/function. A sample question is provided on the top of the card. Depending on the student’s understanding, you can rephrase the question to your liking. The student needs to identify the “same” and “different” objects by its features/functions.

The questions include (which or what can be used):

Which one does not give light?

Which one is not a board game?

Which one does not poke?

Which one does not bite?

Which one cannot see?

What is not used in cooking?

Which one do you not carry to school?

What is not found in a kitchen?

Which one does not have a tail?

Which one does not crawl?

Which one does not eat food?

Which one does not need electricity?

What is not found on a play ground?

Which one does not live on trees?

Which one does not have bristles?

Which one is not filled with air?

Which is not a summer wear?

What is not found on a beach?

Which one is not a dessert?

Which one can you not sit on?
