This resource helps students explore object function relationships and answer what questions. It uses real pictures to increase comprehension and expression of different what-function questions for students with autism, special education or speech therapy.
It includes 4 levels of answering 'what' questions:
Level 1: Answers "What" Questions Regarding Functions
- 30 What-Function Flashcards with a picture model and an introduction to What-Function Questions activity
Ex: "What do you drink from?"
Level 2: Labels Item When Told Its Function/Feature/Class
- 54 Flashcards to identify the correct object within a field of 3 to answer a 'what-function' question
Ex: "What can you color with?"
Level 3: Labels the Function of an Item with Visual Choices
- 16 Flashcards to practice completing the function of object-function phrases
Ex: "Scissors are for _______"
Level 4: Labeling the Function of an Item Independently
- 24 Flashcards to label the function of items
Ex: "What do you do with a cup?"
