Description
I use this lesson during the first week of school to introduce science to my 4th graders. The lesson includes a page for students to brainstorm possible answers for "What is a scientist?" I use this lesson to dispel stereotypes of who can be a scientist. After the discussion, I pass out the second page which includes many different areas of science (archaeology, zoology, etc.). The students then choose an area of science they are interested in and use their choice to fill out and draw a picture of themselves on the third sheet.
