Students draw a picture and write about what they want to be when they grow up and why. There is an adorable book by Al Yankovic called "When I Grow Up" that I like to read before students complete the activity. It's a great text-to-self connection activity that aligns with the Common Core.

Great value
This was a great activity for my 5th/6th students to use in their LIM lessons with the PK-k students. The students then put the activity into their LIM binders.
My students loved using this resource during small group. They were engaged and had no trouble getting started. Preparing the resources was very easy and took no time. I had to adapt it a little for my low kids but all enjoyed the activity. I will definitely continue to use this resource with my next year students.

This works well with the writing unit we are using and we were learning to write more details. Adding because is exactly what we were learning at the time.
