Just print and go- hardly any prep, other than cutting out 10 problems, is needed for the in-person version! Or if using the digital Easel version, just share with your students! There is also a link to the answer key so students can check their answers at the end of the activity. They can complete this activity completely independently!

Included is a letter to the students about the mystery they have to solve, 10 problems that review addition and subtraction in a variety of ways, student answer sheets encouraging students to show their work, and answer keys for all the problems.

Students don't realize they are solving difficult word problems because they are having too much fun solving the mystery!
