Description

If you want an interesting and different way to teach a comparing numbers lesson with problems that have both increased rigor and require higher level thinking skills, look no further than this PowerPoint Presentation. Filled with 12 colorful slides with engaging movements, it will keep your students’ attention. The ten problems require students to compare using models as well as the different number forms.

To use this presentation, the students read each screen and solve the problems; this can be done independently or in groups. When everyone has finished, one click and the answer is revealed.

For a preview, I have attached an abbreviated version with the first three slides so that you see if this is something that would work for you.

**Please note that these problems are the same as those in the “Comparing Gallery Walk” activity in several of my other “hardcopy” packets (whole number lesson unit, comparing numbers lesson unit, and the comparing numbers activities). It actually is meant to be a companion to the “hardcopy” version and used to check answers. But it can easily be used as a separate activity.

If you are interested in a complete lesson unit for whole numbers (place value, comparing, and rounding), lesson units activities for the components (place value, comparing, and rounding) or just the activities for the components (place value, comparing, and rounding), I have those available both as “hard copy” and electronic versions for purchase. *Please note that the materials in the individual components in the “hardcopy” versions are the same as the ones in the complete lesson packet.
