Students frequently ask- "Why do we study History?"....as a History teacher that's easy to answer: its fun and interesting! Before teaching about any specific unit, take the time to do this activity with students to introduce the overall study of History.

This lesson set is the perfect way to help students understand the importance of History and to help them answer that question. This lesson set will help explain what is included in our study of History and major reasons for why it is so important. Students will be able to read about the reasons for studying History, brainstorm their own ideas, take notes, analyze quotes, and write a written summary!
