Description
This is math as a real world application. Students will use their knowledge of fractions and decimals in order to take on various roles in a relevant problem. They will determine the cost to replace a home, how long it takes a fire to spread, and decide which emergency supplies to purchase.
Problems focus around 4 different roles:
National Guard soldier
Red Cross worker,
insurance adjuster
Firefighter chief.
It concludes with a bonus activity that challenges students to ideate prototype solutions.

I needed an answer key for the word problems. Also, Ikea didn't have many of the items listed so we had to use Walmart.com.
