Why I love this resource:
I created this resource for my 1st grade students who are ready for math extension. I don’t want to prematurely expose them to above-grade-level content, but needed a way to challenge them as they build a strong number logic foundation. The engaging winter theme makes it feel seasonal without being holiday-specific ❄️
These completely visual balanced numbers puzzlers are just the right fit! Students LOVE them and feel accomplished when they finish. They provides a rich opportunity for my young mathematicians to:

Hi! I’m an early elementary teacher who has been in Chicago Public School classrooms for over 10 years. I have a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education and well as my ELL/Bilingual Education certificate. Throughout my time in Pre-K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade classrooms, I’ve developed a passion for standards-based, culturally-relevant education.
