These are fun decimal story problems that revolve around various winter themes (snow measurements, snow day walking distances, and ski trip item prices).

No items reference any holidays such as Christmas, Kwanzaa, etc. The themes are strictly winter.

All items are fully editable for you to incorporate your own students' names.

Each story problem requires students to think critically before solving can begin.

The following are the specific activities with sample problems from each:

Activity 1 - Snow Measurements

Adding, subtracting, multiplying, and ordering decimals

Sample Problem - What is the difference between the December and January snow measurements in Duluth?

Activity 2 - Snow Day Walking Distances

Rounding, ordering, and comparing decimals

Sample Problem - Round Yolanda’s distance to the nearest whole number.

Activity 3 - Ski Trip Item Prices

Add, subtract, and multiply decimals

Sample Problem - What is the difference in price between the boots and the snowpants?
