Description

Do you need a fun way to reinforce and to review knowledge of 3D Shapes, numerals, number words, making 10, doubles, and number charts as well as representing numbers using rods and units (tens and ones) using a winter theme? Winter Pocket Chart Math Games uses the “hide and seek” game to engage students in learning fun.

This resource offers 7 mathematics games for First Grade children. I use these games during Math lessons and during my math centre time. I also like to use the game cards for subitizing activities.

Winter Pocket Chart Math Games has 7 games that cover these mathematical concepts:

Numerals (30-50)

Number Words (thirty to fifty)

Number Charts (30-50)

Making 10 using 10 Frames and number stories

Doubles (pictures and number stories)

3D Shapes or Solids (cone, cube, sphere, cylinder, hemisphere, triangular prism, rectangular prism, square-based pyramid, triangular-based pyramid or tetrahedron, pentagonal prism, hexagonal prism) and

Place Value: rods and units; tens and ones (30-50)

The games are created in colour (color) and in black and white.

This resource is easy to prep: copy, cut, laminate, and play!

Game Directions for Winter Pocket Chart Math Games:

Place the cards from one of the games in a pocket chart. Then hide one of the character cards behind a card. Choose a student to name a shape on a card (or numeral or number word or amount) and then to look behind the card to see if the character card is there. If the character card is not behind that card, choose another student to take a turn. When the character card is found, the round is over. Then hide a character card behind a different card.

To add a literacy component to the game, we say the little rhyme before each student takes a turn.

I have plans to make spring and summer pocket chart resources. If there is something you would like in the resources, please feel free to drop me a line in the question section of my store or an email at primarilyblueresources@gmail.com. Thank you for stopping by and leaving a review as that too is appreciated greatly.
