My students were thoroughly engaged with this resource!
Loved this activity. I would have like to have a variation of different shapes but my students enjoyed making these.
This had great video resources to provide background knowledge as well as hook students to the lesson.
I'm a librarian and this really helped with our Snowflake Bentley STEM event. Thank you for creating this product. I also will use this for my story and STEM winter Pre-K.
Decent craft- the hard shapes are more cut out for older kids as some of my kids had troubles- or a craft for later in the year.
I wanted to make a craft with my second graders for our December/January bulletin board theme- but I still wanted it to be educational. I read The Science of Snow to the class and we filled out a details web all about snowflakes and what we learned about them / why they look the way they do. This was a great activity to help build connections to the book and increase their understanding. I used the school's die cut machine to cut out the shapes and we followed the given directions from there. Very happy with this project!
Exactly what my Kindergarten team needed - Thank you!
Used this to connect our water cycle unit to math and reading. Students made the snowflakes after listening to the story "Snowflake Bentley".
Fun way to connect reading & math. Thanks for sharing!
