Description

Use this winter holiday set, including designs for Christmas, Hanukkah (also spelled Chanukah), and winter to review math facts for addition, subtraction, multiplication, division. Combine math with art for a win-win lesson! Art integration is one of the most effective ways to engage students. I have created this product using my popular "pop art" images, so students can't easily "guess" the colors.

You will find that I have filled each image with patterns and then added math problems into the various shapes and patterns. There are a LOT of math problems on each sheet.

In this Christmas and Hanukkah winter math set, I have included addition up to 20, subtraction from as high as 25, and multiplication and division that review all the times tables from the 2s to the 9s. There is something in this math set for everyone! Instead of creating 2 separate products to break up the addition/subtraction and multiplication/division, I've included them ALL in this one product at the same price as an individual set.

This resource is part of the Math Fact Pop Art Coloring Sheet Bundle for the entire year (10 sets included).

These winter math sheets are a great review of math facts and great for "discreet" differentiation. As the teacher, you know which students need a challenge and can do the division sheets and which students might still be struggling with subtraction. You can give out these winter math sheets, and all kids can work on their level.

I have also included writing prompts so when students finish early, they can write about the winter season...and in my fashion, I had to also include one of my signature interactive coloring sheets in case you've never used them with your students.

I loved using these math sheets in my classroom, and I can't wait for you to as well!

Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10. Use strategies such as counting on; making ten (e.g., 8 + 6 = 8 + 2 + 4 = 10 + 4 = 14); decomposing a number leading to a ten (e.g., 13 - 4 = 13 - 3 - 1 = 10 - 1 = 9); using the relationship between addition and subtraction (e.g., knowing that 8 + 4 = 12, one knows 12 - 8 = 4); and creating equivalent but easier or known sums (e.g., adding 6 + 7 by creating the known equivalent 6 + 6 + 1 = 12 + 1 = 13).
Fluently add and subtract within 20 using mental strategies. By end of Grade 2, know from memory all sums of two one-digit numbers.
Apply properties of operations as strategies to multiply and divide. Examples: If 6 × 4 = 24 is known, then 4 × 6 = 24 is also known. (Commutative property of multiplication.) 3 × 5 × 2 can be found by 3 × 5 = 15, then 15 × 2 = 30, or by 5 × 2 = 10, then 3 × 10 = 30. (Associative property of multiplication.) Knowing that 8 × 5 = 40 and 8 × 2 = 16, one can find 8 × 7 as 8 × (5 + 2) = (8 × 5) + (8 × 2) = 40 + 16 = 56. (Distributive property.)
