Description
This unit was designed for high school students in a special education setting, but the resources in this unit can also be used with younger students.
The items in this unit are for Wishtree by Katherine Applegate.
While the novel is written on a 4th/5th grade level, this unit is designed for older students who struggle with reading. The questions are written to reach toward middle and high school state standards while offering the students the support of an easier text. Each question is labeled with the skill/type of questions (recall, inference, connection, explain, analysis, etc.). There are three close reading excerpts, two quizzes, a test, and a bingo review game. Product was made on Google and is ready to print, add to Canvas, etc.
Since the chapters are short, questions are combined for better pacing. A CLOZE assessment is included for use after Chapter 14. Seven of the ten chapter guides include vocabulary to define via context clues or with a resource such as dictionary.com. BINGO templates to accompany the BINGO questions are not included, but these can be found for free online.
