I created a unit to go with Wonderopolis Wonder #59, Who Was The Most Famous Female Aviator? that has students asking questions, reading nonfiction text, writing, measuring, competing in a paper airplane challenge and learning about history.

New Wonders of the Day like those listed above are posted daily, and connect engaging informational text to content areas across the curriculum, including STEM subjects. Each Wonder meets multiple Common Core State Standards, particularly for reading and language, and can easily be used to support writing, speaking, and listening.
