The Word Building & Writing: Advanced Sounds Bundle will assist you as you teach children to spell many types of advanced words, including those with blends, silent “e,” digraphs, vowel teams, and diphthongs.

The bundle (sold at a discount) includes two Moveable Alphabets (one small and one large) and the following word building products, each of which is sold separately in my store:

Each Word Building product in the bundle includes:

1) Picture Mats (ideal for Language Arts centers or table work).

2) Picture Cards (to cut apart) for word building without the mats (i.e., for floor work on a Montessori rug or a place mat on the table).

3) Control Charts (correct answers) for self-correction of work by the child. Vowels and consonants are offered in both blue and red. Print the Control Charts that are consistent with your educational environment.

Two sizes of the complete Moveable Alphabet are included the bundle. The Small Moveable Alphabet is intended to be used with the Picture Mats (for Language Arts centers or table work) and the Large Moveable Alphabet is ideal for word building with the cut-apart Picture Cards (i.e., for floor work on a Montessori rug or table work using a small placemat). Vowels and consonants are offered in both blue and red, so print the version that is consistent with your educational environment. Uppercase letters, lowercase letters, extra vowels, and punctuation are included in the file, which are useful for word building of complete sentences when the child is ready for more challenge. I have found it helpful to store moveable alphabet letters in a plastic craft storage box with compartments for each letter.

As a bonus, each pack includes several options for writing practice of the words in each set. The blackline writing practice pages include options for 1) tracing without lines, 2) writing on a single line, 3) tracing on primary lines, and finally 4) writing on primary lines. These pages offer many opportunities for writing practice for children at various stages in writing development. The writing practice pages can be cut apart on the lines to create mini-books, which children love (print the “actual size” and you won’t need to trim the edges)!
