This Single- & Multi-Step Word Problem Puzzle Match-Up helps students build a deeper understanding of math by connecting word problems, strip diagrams, equations, and number lines. As they match each piece, they'll strengthen their problem-solving skills while making meaningful connections between different representations.
You can tailor this activity to fit your students' needs—have them solve each problem for an added challenge, or keep the focus on identifying the matching equation, strip diagram, and number line.
If you’d like to use this activity for independent or partner work, a recording sheet is included for students to track their matches—or for you to take it for a grade.
