Word problems can be challenging so using this idea of asking our students if have the total or if we are finding the total is so helpful. I display the flow chart in front of my room and refer to it CONSTANTLY. We will work through these activities typically in small groups but could be done in a whole group setting as well. There are over 85+ pages in this resource for you to help students grasp this important concept of solving word problems!
