Description

Are your students struggling with solving word problems? These materials can be used to help students determine the correct operation in a problem and write a plan (equation) to prepare them to solve. Cut and tape the symbol circles to pencils or popsicle sticks, and you can play a game where you display a word problem and have students hold up the correct operation. Then you can assess students using the exit tickets (there is one with all four operations and one with just addition and subtraction). The word problem slide deck is editable, so you can customize it to fit the needs of your students.
