Story Problems
This HUGE bundle has 200 story problems so your little ones can practice addition and subtraction word problems all year long. These story problem uses numbers 1-20, but mostly focuses on working with numbers between 10-20.
Each topic has 10 word problem pages with 2 versions. The first version is a full page where students show their thinking by drawing a picture and writing it in words. On the bottom, they write the number sentence they used to solve the word problem. The second version has journal prompts that you could cut and pass out. The students could glue them in their math notebooks and show their thinking in there. Math notebooks are perfect for having your students show multiple ways to solve the problems.
I have been using these story problem pages for 3 years, and completely believe that daily problem solving makes a HUGE difference in student success. They are confident problem solvers and are able to show and verbalize their math thinking.
With problem solving, I believe that it is incredibly important they are able to show how they solved the problem and not just the final answer. They are able to "teach" each other how they solved the problems which is way more powerful than me showing them!
