Description

This activity has 20 word problem task cards with fun recording page that allows students to color in a T-Rex on the grid as they solve each word problem.

There are 20 word problems that would be based around 2nd to 3rd grade practice in these task cards. Students are asked to record their answers on a recording sheet with grid on it. When a student shows her/his work in the designated grid they will also lightly shade a given pattern into the squares in that work area. When the students complete all 20 problems the shaded areas on the grid end up creating a T-REX! I always love how beautiful a grid paper full of math work looks and the T-REX is just the cherry on top! A wondrous thing to behold!

There are 4 different versions of the math story/word problem task cards that are differentiated starting at no bar diagram, then moving on to the bar diagram with no numbers filled in, to bar diagram with the question mark for the part or whole unknown, all the way to the bar diagram being properly filled in for beginning or struggling students.

What a kind and exciting response! I got a little choked up when I read this last night. I never thought I'd feel so valued by an imaginary gold star. :) Thank you for taking the time, I'm sure your students are in great hands.
