MATH CUBES! A PROBLEM A DAY!
This set includes 180 word problems; word problems for every day of the year! You can use these with or without the cubes, but the cubes add a little extra fun and engagement!
I use these for “Word Problem of the Day." Every day we do one word problem together. One student gets chosen to either roll the cube or throw it up and catch it. If the student catches it, they choose one of the word problems their fingers landed on. Students then complete the word problem in their math journals. Simply change that problem out, so it's ready for the next day.
Also perfect to use in centers and if you have two cubes, you can even split your class into two teams and turn this into a relay game.
These word problems were created for my special education class, but are based on first grade standard CCSS 1.OA.1, so also perfect for a first grade classroom. These target adding and subtracting numbers to 20 by adding, taking from, putting together, taking apart, and comparing with unknowns in all positions. They are also very practical for intervention groups and special learners working below grade level.
A link to purchase the cubes is included in the resource.
