Description

Students need a lot of practice with open response word problems. This product contains over 35 pages of open response word problems covering four domains of the Common Core Standards. These can be printed on regular copier paper but I think they work best when printed on Avery 5163 labels. Simply peel off a printed label and add to a sheet of paper or notebook. In my classroom, my students use composition notebook as their Open Response Math Journals. They add a sticky label to a page and then use the remaining space (or pages, if needed, as workspace to solve the problem and show their thinking). There are one set of word problems per page for easy printing.

I used these problems as a warm up prior to class math discussions. The kids simply put in a notebook and showed their work. So simple. Thanks!

Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoy this. I agree, word problems can be hard for the youngers ones so having lots of practice is so helpful! May the new year be a happy one for you and your students!
