THIS RESOURCE INCLUDES:

These interactive activities will allow students to see how to solve a word problem in more than one way and help develop their understanding of addition and subtraction better by applying them to real-life scenarios.

Students solve five different types of word problems

  • add to
  • take from
  • put together,
  • both addends unknown
  • ways to make 10.

Students show the answer to the problem using multiple strategies such as:

  • a ten-frame
  • drawing a picture
  • a number path or a number line
  • a number bond

There are 4 different types of interactive activities:

  • 1 set of math cards
  • 1 math center activity for acting out word problems
  • Digital Word Problems (Self-checking and Google Slides ready)
  • Interactive Task Cards

Also includes:

  • Math Mat to solve word problems using multiple strategies
  • Picture Vocabulary Cards: A visual menu of math strategies
