In this activity, students practice adding and subtracting 3-digit numbers with regrouping. Word problems are written with two addition and two subtraction situations. The top gives them some examples of addition and subtraction situations, taking kids beyond the idea that subtraction is always "take away." The first two problems give identical numbers and identical information, but ask different questions that prompt a different operation. Answer key included.
