2.RF.3.e- Identify words with inconsistent but common spelling-sound correspondences.
Use this word sort activity to give students an opportunity to identify differences in words containing "ee" and "ea" to produce the long "e" sound in words. There are two cards for every word, so students can engage in a matching game prior to sorting the words. Working with the words in a variety of ways will reinforce word knowledge acquired during this activity.
