Hello Everyone!

In the county that I work in, we use Words Their Way for our spelling units. With this unit we give out different spelling lists each week. These lists are differentiated for each student.

With Words Their Way we do word study homework each week. We used to ask our students parents to buy a notebook at the beginning of the year for this word study homework. This notebook was to be taken home each day from M-Th to do the homework. I experienced so much frustration with this, it drove me CRAZY! Their spelling homework was extremely messy, half the time only 2 out of the 4 nights of homework were complete, many times homework wasn't complete at all, and as they year went out it become obsolete.

I am an advocate for Words Their Way. So, I wanted to come up with a more organized system for this homework. In order to do this, I created this packet that I send home every week. I print out a new packet each Friday and send it home each Monday. It has made a WORLD of difference in the completion of spelling homework!

This packet can be used for any type of spelling list not just Words Their Way.

There is an information page in the beginning of the packet for parents.

There is a spelling list page in the front as well for the students to fill out in class.

There are 8 activities included in this packet. They are as follows:
1. ABC Order
2.Letter Type
3.Rainbow Words
4.Fancy Words
5.Happy Handwriting
6.Sentences
7.Story Maker
8. 3 Times Each

I only pick 4 activities to include in the packet each week. These 4 activities are for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday Night.

At the end of the packet there is a grade sheet that the teacher will use to grade the students effort.
