Working Memory Digit Cards
Working Memory is the ability to hold information in your memory while doing other tasks. You use working memory to do things like paying attention to a set of directions, learning to read or spell, having an in-depth conversation, or following through on tasks.
How Many Numbers Can You Do?
- You need 5-6 numbers in order to be able to process phonics.
- You need 7 numbers if you are older than 7 years for typical daily function
- You need 8 numbers for spelling & word recognition. (You also need 8 for good conversation/marriage relationships!)
- You need 9 numbers for a college education.
- If you want to be a doctor, you need to be able to do 12 numbers!
Working with these cards can help your whole family improve many different behaviors. It can help with overall brain function, memory, following directions, and improved executive function (life skills)!
