Description

7 Stations with recording sheet. Students have a choice of four stations from station activities 1-5. Stations 6 and 7 are required. The recording sheet has prompts provided.

Ideal for an observation, can use various approaches.

I used bar modeling represent these situations, but depending on where you are in the curriculum the students can write the equations directly from the situation. Thea advantage of the bar model is that students can reason through the situations to solve for the unknown variable without formal teaching of 'inverse operations'.

Worked out solutions provided.

Solve real-world and mathematical problems by writing and solving equations of the form x + p = q and px = q for cases in which p, q and x are all nonnegative rational numbers.
