“Write the Room” is a favorite learning experience in our classroom. The goal of this activity is to attempt to re-create this learning experience at home in a simplified way.

These resources have already been divided into packets for you. Simply post it on your CLASSROOM SECURED SITE ONLY. Please do not share it with other teachers or on a school website. Alternatively, you may elect to print out hard copy sets to distribute to your students.

Each PDF packet contains:

1. a NON-EDITABLE how-to letter to parents
2. a set of nine cards to be cut out and distributed randomly about the child’s home
3. a response sheet

This HUGE bundle includes:

1) Same or Different: Animal Groups

2) Seasonal/thematic resources from our Early Learning Write the Home Series which will assist the home-learner to recognize matches of letters, beginning sounds and count objects in a fun way.

• Upper– to Lower-case Letters
• Lower– to Upper-case Letters
• Beginning Sounds to Lower-case Letters
• Counting 1-9 (Subitizing)

3) CVC Resources:

• CVC in ABC Order (Set 1): Uses TWO words on each card
• CVC in ABC Order (Set 2): Uses THREE words on each card
• CVC Crack the Code Number Lock: Decipher the code by number
• CVC Crack the Code in ASL: Decipher code using American Sign Language
• CVC Crack the Code Beginning Sounds: Decipher code using the beginning sounds of animal names
