"I did this a little different. I glued the matching letters together so that throughout the week I can flip the cards over it is like a whole new problem for them to work on. This will help with stretching the activity out through the week. "

"This resource was easy to integrate into my weekly math centres across three units--counting, adding and subtracting. It was easy for my students to follow once given directions and I use it consistently throughout the year!"

Description

Write the Room activities can transform boring math practice into an engaging math activity perfect for Math Centers, Early Finishers, or Independent Practice. Counting and math skills have never been so fun and full of movement.

What is Write the Room?

In case you are new to Write the Room, let me give you a little explanation of this fabulous kinesthetic activity that can be used for nearly any skill. Write the Room activities are generally used as a small group activity. I use it specifically during math and literacy stations. I have specific skills that are placed on cards throughout the rooms. Students (usually 4-5) use a clipboard and a response sheet to search for the skill cards and when they find them, record their answers. You can choose to have students use a laminated response sheet or a paper/pencil one to turn in. The choice is up to you. What makes this Write the Room set so special is that it makes differentiating your instruction easy!

Why Write The Room:

►keeps students engaged in essential math skills

►appeals to kinesthetic learners who need to move

►allows students to work cooperatively or independently on math skills

►provides developmentally appropriate activities that focus on essential standards and skills in math

►provides the opportunity for students to build confidence and feel successful in math

differentiated so all students can feel successful

►provides TONS OF FUN!
