Write the Room is an engaging literacy activity that incorporates movement and fun! Students hunt around the classroom to find picture cards and then they write the lowercase letter that matches the uppercase letter already on the card, on the corresponding recording. This is a great activity for students who are just learning the alphabet and for students who can already recognize the letters, this activity is perfect in aiding them to learn how to write all the letters.
This activity includes:
- 26 cards each with one matching uppercase and lowercase letter word a matching picture.
- The recording sheet has the pictures and a blank to write the correct lowercase letter.
- Directions on how to use this resource in your classroom and some tips that have been proven successful to help make write the room work in a classroom.
- Instructions on how teachers can make their own write the room clipboards for their students to use during this, and other, write the room activities. We, the Knowledge Ninjas, have found it so helpful to have specific clipboards for write the room. This products contains an alphabet chart that can be attached on the back of a clipboard for students to reference easily while engaging in write the room activities.
This is a wonderful activity for students to do at the beginning of the school year to learn how write the room works. Also, students can work independently at their own pace to do this activity and if a child does not finish, their recording sheet can be saved and finished the following day.
