Description

Tired of students writing incomplete or run-on sentences, but don't have time to do a grammar deep dive? This resource is for you!

The following slides/activities will provide you and your students a common language and understanding of sentence structure so that when students do make a mistake, it will be easy for you to point it out, and it will be simple for students to independently make the correction.

This resource contains a simple formula for teaching your students how to write clear, concise, and complete sentences. (This is NOT a grammar deep dive).

In this resource, you will find:

1. A Google Slides Sentence Sort (incomplete, complete, and run ons)

2. A simple formula & lesson plan for teaching sentence structure

3. 15 days of sentence structure quick practice

4. 3 student practice handouts (and answer keys) to accompany daily lessons & slides

5. A guide/lesson for students on using "connecting words" (and, but, so, because) to create compound sentences.

6. A guide/lesson for students on using transition phrases to introduce sentences with information about order, time, and location.

7. A 10-question assessment & answer key

8. Simple Sentence Rules Student Handout & Poster

(This resource currently contains lessons/activities on simple and compound sentences)
