Description
Kids get practice with translating verbal expressions into mathematical expressions. This is designed for an 8th grade Algebra class and can be used for any level of Algebra. Kids in higher math still like to cut and paste! This worksheet lets them kick it old school while practicing higher level math skills. Students cut out the bottom grid, then translate the verbal sentance into a math expression by matching and glueing their answers. I've had my students lay out all of their answers and only tape one side of each column to the paper. This way, they have an instant way to practice translating from math to words and back again by creating a flip window study guide.
