Description
Get your Algebra students excited about WRITING LINEAR EQUATIONS with this fun collection of Foldable Color-by-Number Activity Booklets. Students will write linear equations given a POINT & a SLOPE, write equations from 2 POINTS, find the slopes of PARALLEL & PERPENDICULAR lines, & write equations for lines that are parallel/perpendicular to a given line and pass through a given point. Use each booklet as a stand-alone assignment or paste into Interactive Notebooks when done. The musical coloring images provide a cohesive theme for your unit and the foldable booklets are a fun change of pace from completing traditional worksheets.
56 Practice Problems
- BOOKLET 1 (12 Problems): Write a LINEAR EQUATION in POINT-SLOPE FORM or SLOPE-INTERCEPT FORM when given a Point & a Slope.
- BOOKLET 2 (12 Problems): Write a LINEAR EQUATION in SLOPE-INTERCEPT FORM when given 2 Points.
- BOOKLET 3 (14 Problems): Find the SLOPE of a PARALLEL or PERPENDICULAR LINE when given an Equation in Slope-Intercept Form, an Equation in Standard Form, or a Graph of the Line
- BOOKLET 4 (10 Problems): Write the EQUATION of a PARALLEL LINE that passes thorugh a given point when given an Equation in Slope-Intercept Form, an Equation in Standard Form, or a Graph of the Line
- BOOKLET 5 (10 Problems): Write the EQUATION of a PERPENDICULAR LINE that passes thorugh a given point when given an Equation in Slope-Intercept Form, an Equation in Standard Form, or a Graph of the Line
- Please check out the pdf PREVIEWS to view the exact problems included in each resource
- Aligns to 2023 Indiana Academic Standard A1.L.2: Represent linear functions as graphs from equations (with emphasis on technology), equations from graphs, and equations from tables and other given information (e.g., from a given point on a line and the slope of the line). Find the equations of a line in a slope-intercept, point-slope, and standard forms. Reveal more or less information about a given situation based on the form used.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
- FOLDABLE BOOKLETS: Print and fold in half to form the booklet (perfect size for putting in an INB). The coloring page is the front cover of the booklet and the practice problems are inside. The code chart (answer bank) is on the back cover.
- NO PREP: Just copy/print/fold and you are ready! (You could have the kids fold their own papers, too!).
- IF YOU HAVE LIMITED TIME: You can still use a booklet and answer bank for feedback without completing the coloring page. The design on the front cover of the booklet was specifically created to be interesting and engaging on its own (even if not colored in). This gives you more flexibility if class time is limited or if you have students who work at a slower pace (or don't like to color).
WHAT IS INCLUDED:
1] 5 Foldable Booklets (each is 1 page front & back)
► 56 Total Problems
► Musical Coloring Page (1/2 page - forms the front cover of the Booklet)
► Answer Bank/Code Chart (on the back page of each folded Booklet)
2] Answer Keys
3] Directions (Printing/Folding, and how to use Coloring Activity)
WHO IS THIS FOR? (Suitable for both middle school & high school classes)
- Algebra 1, or Algebra 2 students learning to write Linear Equations in different forms.
- Please view the problems in the PREVIEW before purchase to determine if the difficulty level matches your learning targets.
