Description
Writing Linear Equations in the form y = mx + b form TEKS Aligned: 8.4C, 8.5B, 8.5I
The one-page notes document explains how to write a linear equation in y=mx+b form given a verbal description.
The student takes notes on the fact that they are looking for a starting value (y-intercept) and a rate of change (slope) in each situation.
They fill in a table of values and use the table to find the starting value and rate of change. From there, they can write the equation in y=mx+b format.
Also included is a practice page with four more examples that can be assigned for independent practice. Key included.
