Description
Hello Happy Teachers!
This is a great product for your INB (Interactive Notebooks) or can be used as remediation for formative assessments. I used this in my standard 8th grade math classroom, but it could be used in any grade covering "Writing Linear Equations".
This PDF document is a perfect monitoring tool if you are using the Marzano evaluation system or if you are just looking for a great way for students to reflect on the scale from the unit.
Ways I use it in my classroom:
*"Scale" so students can see what they will be asked to do and can self-assess throughout unit. Level 3 on the scale is the LEARNING GOAL, level 4 is enrichment, and level 1 and 2 build up to level 3. My notes for this unit begin at level 1 of understanding. Look below to see links to those notes.
*"Vocabulary blocks" as warm up problems after a lesson has been taught. Then go over to make sure they have accurate definitions.
*"Pre and Post Goals" are great opportunities for students to set goals for what they would like to achieve and create action steps to achieve them, this is a great lead in to the "Assignment List"
*"Assignment List" to keep students up to date with graded/due assignments for the unit. (Also great if they are absent a day.)
*"Leveled Scale with Problems" could be used as warm-up, mini-lesson, formative assessment, quiz, or even as your test. The scale was created using 8th grade standards and the problems mirror the level requirements. As mentioned, the notes I have created for this unit directly align to the problems on this scale.
