Description

This set of task cards works great with individuals, partners, small groups, or even centers. Several resources are provided to allow you to use this activity to best suit your classroom! An exciting feature is the inclusion of QR codes encoded with the answers so students can check their own work.

You will find 44 cards at different Depth of Knowledge levels, appropriate for students at all levels. Students will write linear functions based on different types of information, including slope and a point, two points on the line, and tables. They will also have to analyze word problems to create a linear function that represents the situation. About half of the cards are more skills-based, and the other half require more in-depth thinking.

The QR codes are an exciting addition! Do you find yourself overwhelmed when all of your students want you to check their answers at once while you are trying to help a struggling student?

If you are in a technology-enabled classroom, students can use any device with a QR reader to scan the code and immediately access the answers. You do not need to have Internet access for the codes to work! Students will just need to download a QR reader to their phones or iPods. Answer keys are provided in case you do not have access to this technology.

Differentiation:
Differentiation is so important in the classroom, but sometimes it is difficult to plan for and implement. This resource was designed to make it easy for you to differentiate effectively. You can create different sets of cards to meet your students' needs. If you have struggling learners, it may be appropriate to give them just a few cards at a time with similar problems. If you have accelerated students, you may want to reduce the number of skills problems and give them all the problem-solving cards.

Once you print the cards, it is very easy to just pull out the pages you want and copy them for different groups. When I use these, I copy them on different colors of cardstock for different groups so I know at a glance which group gets which set.
