Description
This set of four graphic organizers can be used to teach Writer's Workshop Mini-Lessons or while your students are independently writing. Along with the graphic organizers I have included a short description of how I use the organizers in my own classroom.
#1 - Inside/Outside Circle: What do great writers do? A must reference sheet for your writers' binders/notebooks and as an anchor chart in your classroom. Help remind your students of the strategies great writers use.
#2 - Beginning-Middle-Ending Chart: Your students will love this simple organizer when planning their writing.
#3 - Show, Don't Tell! chart: Help your students practice the strategy of "showing" with this chart of example events. Use this chart during a mini-lesson and your students can put the finished chart in their writing binders or notebooks.
#4 - If I Say... graphic organizer - Help your students in the drafting and editing step of their writing. This graphic organizer encourages your students to use descriptive language and think about what the audience will learn and understand from their writing.
