Description

Back to School Writing - There are more than 250 writing prompt task cards plus recording sheets for most of them. This is your writing center for the year! Perfect for first grade and end of year Kindergarten. All sets have now been recently updated - more cards, recording sheets and fonts/graphics have been updated.

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

Set 1 Updated - Over the years I've had requests for slight modifications so I've included all those sets - there is one set asking for no specific number of things (says, "write all you know" vs. "list three things", there is a SPANISH version as well as a set created for an SLP where the wording is "Turn to your partner and talk about......" for oral language skills.

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

250+ cards total. This is your writing center for the year!

These may be purchased as individual sets, or BUNDLED together for a reduced price vs.purchasing them individually.

Set 1: List Making (comes with a to-do list)

Set 2: Seasons and Rhyming Words

Set 3: Feelings, Seasons, Senses

Set 4: Asking Question and More

Set 5: How To and Months of the Year

Set 6: Long Vowel List Making and More

Set 7: Fact and Opinion Sentences

Set 8: Write a QUICK Friendly Letter

Set 9: MORE List Making

I use these writing cards with my first grade class as a Work on Writing activity during our Daily 5 rotations. Students complete these in their writing journal which is just a composition notebook.

I number the cards on the back after I print them on card stock and laminate them. They write the card number on their paper so I know which one they have done.

I have one set out for a month or so, then put them away for a month or so, and then pull them back out. It is one of the Work on Writing activities they LOVE.

I was looking for writing prompts my students could use independently in centers or as an early finisher activity. These writing cards are clear and concise and offer endless topics for my students to write about. My favorite are the cards that ask students to generate a "list", as my students become more excited to write lists rather than sentences. I printed the cards in color and had them laminated so they would stay nice for each new class.

I used this as an early finishers if my students completed everything in their writing center tasks. They enjoyed some of the card topics that they got.
