Description

A set of 30 sentence starters for science class! These sentence starters can be used in lots of fun ways to increase the amount of talking, thinking, and analyzing that is completed by your students during lessons.

Building academic literacy and understanding the language of science can be difficult for all students and especially ELL students. Getting your students to talk and write about scientific content and think about science from an analytical standpoint can support literacy skills for all students.

Print, laminate, and cut apart the sentence starter cards and keep them handy during lessons. You can have students randomly choose cards from the cup or you can pass them out and get the conversations started! Or you can select one for the entire class to be used as a writing prompt.

Use them during think, pair, share activities, as a warm up, closer, or impromptu formative assessment! The possibilities are limitless!

This license is limited to your personal classroom use ONLY. You are not permitted to make additional copies for your department or district. If you plan on sharing, please purchase multiple licenses or direct other teachers to purchase a license for their own use. Thank you for respecting the intellectual property of other teachers.
