Description

These 32 task cards cover writing / translating expressions with variables when given a word expression. A key words chart is included to make copies for your students or place in your math center. They are differentiated for different levels based on a color code. Ways to use task cards are also included.

Task cards can be used in endless ways to mix up your normal routine in the classroom. They encourage student to student collaboration and get kids out of their seats for awhile. Allowing the students to go from one card to another is especially beneficial for accommodating students who need assignments broken into chunks for better focus and those who need frequent breaks or the ability to get up and move around. They are also great for differentiation: choose the cards you find more challenging and assign those numbers to a set group of students.
