Description
Looking for structured, leveled task box activities to build Yes/No responding and early reasoning skills in speech therapy and special education?
This resource targets Yes/No discrimination using familiar objects, actions, and everyday situations, helping students develop functional communication and early concept understanding through carefully scaffolded question types.
Activities progress from simple identification questions to functional and contextual reasoning, while task format moves from supported to more independent responding — making it easy to differentiate for a wide range of learners.
⭐ Designed for Structured Teaching & Independent Work
These activities are ideal for TEACCH-aligned work systems, task boxes, file folder activities, and structured learning stations.
All planning and progression are built into the materials, so teachers and therapists can focus on implementation rather than setup and decision-making.
All task pages and cards are included with and without labels for maximum flexibility.
📌 How the Levels Work
Each task format includes three question levels (A–C):
- Level A – Simple Identification
Focuses on basic object and picture recognition (e.g., “Is this a dog?”)
- Level B – Functional Understanding
Targets what objects are used for and everyday actions (e.g., “Can you wear this?”)
- Level C – Context & Reasoning
Requires interpretation of environmental and situational cues (e.g., “Is it nighttime?”)
These same A–C levels are included across all task formats below:
- Level 1.1 – Errorless Yes/No (supported responding using separate Yes/No cards)
- Level 1.2 – Multiple Choice Yes/No (students select Yes or No directly on the page)
- Level 1.3 – Yes/No Sorting (students sort pictures into Yes and No columns)
This allows you to target the same question complexity using different response formats, making it easy to support progression toward more independent responding.
Simply print, laminate, cut, and place in task boxes or file folders for repeated use.
🎯 Best For
• Speech therapy
• Special education classrooms
• Autism support classrooms
• Early intervention
• AAC-supported learners
• Independent work systems and structured teaching stations
Also appropriate for older students who benefit from early language concepts and highly structured learning tasks.
