Description
We all have students who are ready to move to the next level. These 20 task cards are the perfect match for those students who are ready to move beyond the mundane worksheet or review activity. The cards are designed to challenge students by requiring them to apply mathematical knowledge yet allow them the freedom to develop problems based on their own evaluation of what the task card is asking.
Skills incorporated into task cards include:
multi-step word problems (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
least common multiple
greatest common factor
comparing and rounding decimals
adding and multiplying decimals
ordering fractions or decimals
elapsed time
measurement (U.S. Customary volume and length)
creating and interpreting graphs
points, lines, rays, angles
geometric patterns
associative and commutative properties
This activity could be done in one session, but it may be even more useful to spread it out over the course of a week or even longer.
The task cards could also make a great math center (center directions card included), early-finisher activity, end-of-the-year test prep activity, or even a cooperative learning task!
Thanks!
