Description
Equip your A2/B1 learners with the tools to master the Zero Conditional - "The Language of Truth." These 24 task cards provide intensive, focused practice on the "if/when + present simple" structure. Moving from basic conjugation to sentence-level accuracy, this set ensures students understand the logical mechanics of facts, habits, and scientific certainties.
Also available in my TPT store are:
Zero to Third Conditional bundle
Mega bundle of conditionals resources from 0-3 and mixed.
What’s Inside the Pack?
The 24 cards are organised into four scaffolded activity types to build total grammatical confidence:
Verb Form Drills (Cards 1–6): Students practice the correct "Present Simple" conjugation in both clauses (e.g., water/die, work/make).
Syntax & Word Order (Cards 7–12): Scrambled sentence challenges to reinforce correct clause placement and the use of "if" versus "when".
The "Error Detective" (Cards 13–18): Students find and correct common beginner mistakes, such as incorrect third-person 's' usage and clause errors.
Functional Q&A (Cards 19–24): Students complete logical question-and-answer pairs using provided verb prompts (e.g., heat/boil, see/run).
Resource Specifications: 24 Task Cards: PDF FORMAT
Clear, portrait layout with level-appropriate vocabulary.
Full Answer Key: Included for easy marking or student-led correction.
Teacher’s Guidance: Suggestions for "Grammar Stations," speed games, and peer discussion.
Why Teachers Love Them:
Reinforces Present Simple: Because the Zero Conditional uses the Present Simple in both parts, these cards serve as excellent dual-purpose revision.
A2/B1 Clarity: The vocabulary is kept intentionally simple (habits, science, and everyday rules) so students can focus entirely on the grammar.
Consistent Mechanics: These cards follow the same rigorous structure as the other sets in the series, helping students focus on the learning rather than the layout.
Highly Versatile: Ideal for use as "bell-ringers," timed classroom challenges, or as part of a structured revision rotation.
Ideal For:
- Specifically targeted at A2/B1 learners.
- Teaching cause-and-effect and logical sentence structures.
- Exam Preparation: Foundations for Cambridge A2 Key (KET) and basic writing accuracy.
