Description

Zoo animal pattern blocks activities are the perfect hands on math center for your preschool or kindergarten classroom. In this math center activity, students create a picture and then count how many of each pattern block shape is included in the picture. A great way to integrate hands on math in your classroom.

Includes 10 different puzzles (rhino, elephant, monkey, tiger, lion, alligator, hippo, giraffe, gorilla, peacock). These activities are great for morning work, early finishers, math centers and work great for STEM activities as well!!!

Different versions to allow for differentiation:

  • colors to scale pattern blocks for students to match,
  • black and white,
  • partner roll and build
  • partner roll and color (great to identify shapes)
  • no lines to challenge students to find their own pattern blocks to create the pictures.

Also includes a recording sheet focusing on counting, addition, and comparing numbers.

This is a great resource for pattern block centers. The children used the colored animal pattern options at the beginning of the year as we were learning the shapes. Later they used the black and white animal patterns and counted how many of each shape they used. The students really enjoyed making the different animal shapes.
