Description

This complete set of flashcards/task cards for Topic 6 provides extra practice for each lesson in Topic 6. They can be used with partners, groups, Kagan Strategies, or centers. Perfect to use for formal observation.
Student engagement is extremely high to perfect when I use these materials.
I write the answers on the back of each flashcard and task card to make them self-checking. I also laminate them so that students can write directly on the cards and then erase them. (Purchasing a small laminator is one of the best purchases you will ever make!!! They can be purchased at Walmart for around $20.

I cut up Magic Erasers for easy erasing.

The tally mark flashcards could be used in a center or with Kagan strategies.
I use them with the game “Quiz Quiz Trade.”

The task cards can also be used for Kagan Strategies. There are 3 different tally mark task activities for each lesson. I use them for a partner pass game. I mass copy each task so that all partners will have a task. I have 6 tables of 4 kids, so I will copy each task 4 times. Each table has the same task at a time. After the completion of each task, the table leader passes the task to the next table. We will pass 3 times to complete all the tasks. Be sure the games are in 1, 2, 3 order as you pass.
NOTE: Write the names of the characters on the board so that they can spell them quickly.
I have trained my class to be good “teachers” and “partners.” They discuss the problems using math language and strategies we have discussed to solve them. I reward them when I hear them discussing the problem. A popular question they ask each other is “How do you know..? Partners solve the problem with a dry erase marker and erase. When they complete each problem, they put their head down. When all/most partners have finished the card, we pass the cards around the room in an “Around the World” fashion. I can easily walk around and assess understanding and give assistance as needed.

I have a LOT more enVision Math 2.0 products in my store.
Practice Sheets for each lesson, I can statements, lesson plans, and Activinspire flipcharts are created for every single lesson and Topic.
